My career began in the field of nursing and I worked for many years in state hospitals until I eventually worked in a private hospital on an adolescent behavioral health unit for twelve years. During those years I returned to college and completed an undergraduate degree in psychology and then a graduate degree in social work. Once I obtained my social work license I then worked in mental health and drug and alcohol treatment on an outpatient basis. This then led me to working at Caron Foundation both in adolescent and adult drug and alcohol treatment programs. Since that time, I have worked in a variety of fields with managed care behavioral health and drug and treatment utilization.

I now return to practice in my most passionate field which is outpatient behavioral health treatment. From my varied background and education, I approach clients looking at physical, emotional and behavioral issues that contribute to their present struggle. I seek to help clients understand their family dynamics and childhood development and resolve present day difficulties impacting their well-being. I utilize an approach of cognitive-behavioral strategies as well as motivational interviewing and mindfulness techniques. I believe in listening carefully to clients and focusing on their strengths and abilities. My goal is to help you move forward on a path that is more fulfilling. Change can feel difficult and overwhelming but also be very rewarding. Hopefully working with you to develop an inner awareness of yourself and more effective skills to manage your struggles will provide a sense of achievement and empowerment.
